I felt compelled to write my representative from PA.
Mr ,
I feel compelled as a veteran and a patriotic American, as well as a supporter of the Republican Party and President Bush to express my concerns with the detention of two fellow patriotic Americans. I believe the members of congress have a duty and responsibility to address the issue of the two border patrol agents being unjustly imprisoned for doing their duty for the citizens of this country. It is a major setback, in my opinion, in the debate over controlling and patrolling our borders. I was tasked in the Navy after the first Gulf war as a member of our boarding party to intercept contraband arms entering in the Iraq Theater. I shudder to think of what may have happened if I was pressed to do my duty as these brave men were pressed to do theirs. Would I have (in a state of panic) not preserved the scene, would I have been sure that in a split second that I made the appropriate decision, would it have been life or death for me or my fellow sailors, and above all else, would my country that I love and had sworn to protect stand beside me for making the split second decisions that I had made. Several years ago I thought I knew the answers to those questions, but under the current circumstances I have questions about the moral direction this country is headed. None of us know what we would have done in the situation that these two brave officers were faced with. I know that if I were faced with making that same decision for my country that I would have. When I was in the service you supported me and my family on different situations when they arose and for that I was and still am very grateful. I believe that pressure needs to be place on the President to pardon these men. I am a supporter of the President and his willingness and courage to stand beside his beliefs but on this issue he is entirely wrong. The border patrol agents are every bit as important as our military service members overseas and at home. Do we show the Mexico and Canada that we as a country have the resolve to secure our borders or are we going to keep making scape goats out of those sworn to protect us. Instead of non binding resolutions that show the terrorists that we are not willing as a governing body to stand behind the commander and chief, why not discuss a resolution that supports the two border agents and put pressure on the President to pardon them. This one issue may determine for me how serious this government is in protecting us and how myself and millions of conservatives vote in the future.
Very Respectfully
Trevor Cragle

Mrs. Ramos, from experience I know that your calls, pleads, and letters will not be taken seriously unless an attorney does it on your behalf. Fortunately you won't have to pay enormous legal fees to have the largest legal corporation in the world and member of the New York Stock Exchange to make phone calls, and write letters on your behalf. People, even politicians and government officials take calls and letter from attorneys seriously and pay attention to them. The two things that REALLY riled me about the trial of Ramos and Compean are: 1. that VITAL evidence FAVORABLE to them was INTENTIONALLY omitted. 2. that their prosecuting attorney, Johnny Sutton, is now UNDER suspicion for allegedly trying to HIDE the CRIME of the detestable illegal alien Mexican drug smuggler when he was CAUGHT at OUR border a SECOND time in October 2005 with an EVEN LARGER load of marijuana than he had when confronted by Ramos and Compean only EIGHT months EARLIER! The whole Ramos-Compean trial was a TOTAL farce! There was NOTHING fair or logical about it! Ramos and Compean were simply RAILROADED through a KANGAROO court! One of the MOST egregious travesties of justice EVER!

I am sending a check in the mail today (2-17-07) and I assume I simply write "Ramos Family Fund" on the payee?

Also, I wish to donate my professional services to assist in this delima, the details will be outlined in my letter.

As a Vietnam Veteran (I joined the Army shortly after graduation from Eastwood in 1970) I am very disturbed that Ignacio (a man who wore also wore a uniform in service to this country) has been abused and incarcerated for being a hero.

We voted for President Bush, however this injustice to our much deserved border patrol agents is horrific. This goes to prove that Bush is definitely on the wrong side of the people who are trying to do what is right for their country. It makes no difference what nationality a person is, it's what they do for their country that matters. There is good and bad in all nationalities. Free these two fine men now!

Sutton and Aldrete-Davila are the ones who deserve to be in prison. (Maybe sutton can be thrown in with the mexican mafia and get the shit beat out of him since he seems to think that sort of think is OK) Bush is making this country into Mexico's bitch.

... Joe, Faith is really the only thing one can believe in, and as long as You, your Family and the Ramos and Compean Families KNOW that Justice will prevail, will there truly be a Day of Redemption for all!
... It is sad that given the fact so many MAJOR CRIMINALS in our legal system are granted THEIR CIVIL RIGHT to be FREE ON APPEAL, here in this case two Oath-taking United States of America Law Enforcement (BP) Agents cannot be made privileged to the very rights given to that (Free due to Immunity) individual who did not even consider being in our country ... legally, and the known subject of doing illegal acts of drug smuggling.
... Joe, all will come out in the "wash" and it will all be worthwhile. I shall keep praying for You and Your Families to see the New Day ... soon!

The main problem with these pro-illegal folks is that they seem unable or unwilling to accept the fact that WITHOUT BORDERS, you CANNOT have a COUNTRY! I am only ONE of COUNTLESS millions of American citizens who do NOT want THIS to happen to OUR country! THIS is WHY Ignacio Ramos, Jose Compean, and Gilmer Hernandez are in PRISON--for DEFENDING the RIGHT of OUR country to exist as a SEPARATE, SOVEREIGN state, NOT as part of any OTHER nation!

I have just read Mr. Loya's letter to Congress. This WHOLE affair simply STINKS! I find it especially galling that the US Army physician who REMOVED the bullet fragment from the drug runner was FLATLY dismissed by the prosecution because he was telling the court NOT what the prosecution WANTED to be said, but what NEEDED to be said--the TRUTH!

1:33 PM

DON'T give up, Mr. Loya, Monica, family and friends! I STRONGLY believe that "Nacho" Ramos and his friend Jose Compean are INNOCENT and are being UNFAIRLY and IRRATIONALLY penalized for DOING their duty! They are BOTH GOOD MEN, and I feel DEEPLY that God WANTS them OUT of prison and they WILL get there!

i have now come close to losing hope that our country, once strong and proud, is no longer the greatest country. There is no pride in government, no moral understanding with our politicians. It doesn't take a lawyer to see the injustice that these two men have faced and continue to face. Our only hope with your case is that the next president pardons you both. Unfortunately, that is not for some time. Be well. Stay strong

Urgent: Two MORE Border Patrol Agents (and their families and friends) in GREAT need of OUR support and prayers:

Arizona BP Agent Nicholas Corbett:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57113

A still-unidentified Texas Border Patrol Agent near El Paso, Texas:
http://www.immigrationwatchdog.com/?p=4433

Like TOO many good American lawmen, these BP Agents simply had NO choice! The circumstances of their situations were SO extreme that they had NO OTHER option BUT self-defense! Predictably and disingenuosly, Mexico is SCREAMING bloody MURDER at OUR country for the violent end two of HER illegals encountered in these tragic incidents! All I can tell Mexico is--LOOK in the MIRROR! If YOU took BETTER care of YOUR OWN people, tragedies like THESE would NOT be SO likely to happen!

Things have NOT been going well for EITHER Arizona Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett OR the still-unidentified El Paso, TX, Border Patrol Agent so they need OUR support and prayers MORE than EVER!

Arizona BP Agent Nicholas Corbett:
"Border Agent Pleads Not Guilty in Slaying"
http://www.examiner.com/a-891205~Border_Agent_Pleads_Not_Guilty_in_Slaying.html (as far as is known, Mexico is STILL allegedly withholding THREE vital witnesses who could EXONERATE Corbett! And as LONG as THIS aberration exists, Corbett could NOT be ASSURED of JUSTICE! NO trial UNLESS and UNTIL those three witnesses favorable to Corbett are ABLE to TESTIFY in HIS behalf! Corbett NEEDS our prayers BIGTIME!)

Still-unidentified El Paso, TX, Border Patrol Agent:
"Witness claims wrong person shot at border, lawyer says"
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/tx/5081640.html (this case has been turned over for review to NONE other than the VERY same prosecutor who canned NACHO RAMOS, JOSE COMPEAN, and GILMER HERNANDEZ--US ATTORNEY JOHNNY SUTTON! God FORBID if this avid court-room addict EVER legally SHREDS yet ANOTHER of our fine BP Agents! THIS one ALSO needs our prayers BIGTIME!)
"Family of man killed by Border Patrol Agent might sue"
http://elpasotimes.com/newupdated/ci_6711808 (this family's deceased member was attempting ILLEGAL entry into OUR country, so WHAT on earth gives THEM ANY right to SUE our govenrment?! BIGTIME prayers needed for THIS one, too!)

Again, I remind Mexico to LOOK in the MIRROR!

MORE problems for Arizona Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett. It seems that Mexico is STILL allegedly withholding three EXCULPATORY witnesses who could EXONERATE him! NO trial, NO legal or judicial proceedings on Corbett's case UNLESS and UNTIL THIS moral outrage is SETTLED!

I have e-mailed President Bush and phoned in on his commentary line for the RELEASE of Ramos and Compean SO often it hurts! Undoubtedly LOTS of other American patriots are doing LIKEWISE! Sometimes it seems as if all our efforts to free these two good men are IN VAIN. Yet, even in the midst of such seemingly impenetrable darkness, I STILL have hope. Because Ramos and Compean are INNOCENT, GOD will free them!

Ramos and Compean NEED and DESERVE their FELLOW Americans to SPEAK OUT for them! And I CANNOT let ANYONE SILENCE me as LONG as Ramos and Compean remain UNJUSTLY imprisoned! I am NOT publicly protesting for them as a FAVOR! I am doing this because Ramos and Compean DESERVE it! I OWE them BIGTIME for BRAVELY SERVING and PROTECTING my FELLOW Americans and ME! URGENT!!! Please PRAY for Arizona Border Patrol Agent NICHOLAS CORBETT, whose trial ended yesterday with a DEADLOCKED JURY!!! The judge DIDN'T ACCEPT THAT!!! He SENT the jury BACK and told them to REDOUBLE their efforts to reach a VERDICT!!!

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5judY3fQUngYd_KP0LeQsIFhZcaTAD8V84P405

Well, the ONLY JUST verdict for BP Agent Corbett is ACQUITTAL! Corbett was DOING his DUTY as an AMERICAN lawman when an ILLEGAL alien Mexican he was trying to arrest THREATENED to SMASH Corbett's HEAD with a FIVE-POUND ROCK! In such an EXTREME situation, Corbett had NO choice but SELF-DEFENSE! Corbett did NOT KILL out of PREMEDITATED malice, he killed to SAVE his OWN LIFE! Corbett does NOT DESERVE to be CONVICTED of SECOND-degree MURDER NOR SENTENCED to LIFE in PRISON! Corbett is a GOOD man and a FINE BP Agent and MUST be EXONERATED! And he NEEDS OUR PRAYERS for this MUCH-NEEDED MIRACLE!

For awhile now, there has been speculation that Arizona Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett, whose UNJUST trial for SECOND-degree murder in his SELF-defense killing of a ROCK-wielding ILLEGAL alien ended in a TWICE-DEADLOCKED jury last month, may HAVE to face ANOTHER trial for the SAME charge on APRIL 22, 2008, or some LATER date! NO SECOND trial for the SAME charge for Corbett! HE, his FAMILY and FRIENDS and WE his FELLOW Americans, have been put through MORE than ENOUGH already!

BAD news for US Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett of Arizona: A friend from Arizona informed me yesterday that DESPITE the UNFAIRNESS and IRRATIONALITY of it all, Corbett is SCHEDULED for a SECOND trial because the FIRST one ended in a MISTRIAL with a TWICE-deadlocked jury! WHY on earth require a SECOND trial for a GOOD man who was only trying to DEFEND himself?! Because there is an EVIL conspiracy that is BOUND and DETERMINED to go to ANY length to CONVICT and CAN Corbett for LIFE, even though Corbett is INNOCENT! I don't understand the choice of GrassFire.org to only contact targets via fax. First of all, not everybody has $15 available for every cause they want to support. Second, faxing is becoming an outdated method of communication -- why aren't we sending email instead? I belong to many environmental lists and they are able to create a lot of change by flooding in-boxes with tons of email. Plus, it's so much easier to spread the message. It seems much more efficient and likely to evoke change if we were all able to send email to the targets free of charge. Then, any monies could be sent directly to the families. Does anybody know of a site that is trying to help via email instead of faxes??

In January 2007, US Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett of Arizona had to KILL a ROCK-wielding ILLEGAL alien in SELF-defense. In August 2007, Corbett was INDICTED for SECOND-degree MURDER in the illegal's death and was PUT on TRIAL last February but the jury DEADLOCKED TWICE and a MISTRIAL had to be declared. Apparently, Corbett's enemies were NOT satisfied with this ruling and SUCCEEDED in having Corbett brought to a SECOND trial for the SAME charge and it began on October 21, 2008. A good friend who attended Corbett's current trial emailed me a daily report of the proceedings. There were MANY things brought out in THIS trial, she disclosed, that had NOT been allowed admission to court in the FIRST one. My friend said that the BEST thing Corbett has going for him is that the coroner testified that the autopsy results line up with CORBETT'S account of the incident, NOT with that of the dead illegal's SURVIVING companions who testified against Corbett in his first trial and again in this one. The prosecution rested its case last Tuesday and the defense last Thursday morning and the case was delivered to the jury Thursday afternoon. Now our dear fellow patriot NEEDS and DESERVES our PRAYERS and SUPPORT so that the jury will give Corbett NOTHING LESS than an ACQUITTAL! God bless Corbett, his family and friends and may this ordeal end TRIUMPHANTLY for him, his family and friends, and for us SOON!

Arizona US Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbett has been put through TWO trials ALREADY for the SAME case! The FIRST trial ended in a MISTRIAL last March, and the SECOND ended in a mistrial just LAST WEEK. GOOD for Corbett, I thought, it's FINALLY OVER! Corbett can at last breathe easy with his family and friends and get on with his life again. Yet, today I found this news report stating that Corbett may have to face a THIRD trial for the SAME case! It made me SO mad I could't see straight!:

I'm sorry that your families have to deal with not having these men around, but I can not support your calls for a pardon given the fact that they shot an unarmed man in the buttocks while he was trying to flee. The only support you will find for trigger-happy border patrol agents are people who still think we are winning the drug war or racist, nationlist "patriots" who believe that any illegals deserve either a bullet or the butt of a gun. I can only hope that future border patrol agents will be as liable for their crimes as Ramos and Compean, as more and more of them seem to think of themselves above the law.

Even if the drug smuggler had a gun, it gave the agents no right to fire on him. The reality is the smuggler was NOT a major player in a cartel, as anyone with an inkling of intelligence knows that cartel members do not smuggle the drugs, but hire poor illiterate people to do it for large sums of money or the possibility of staying in the united states. Ramos & Compean figured they were in the middle of the desert and nobody would catch them shooting innocent drug smugglers. But then again, people that beleive RAmos & Compean are innocent probably think Marijuana is a drug, while they drink alcohol in moderation, the biggest irony...

Please keep these savages behind bars..

Agents Ramos and Compean, my prayers and thoughts have been with you since October 22, 2006 when you were sentenced. I was horrified at the time and really let down by our judicial system. I retired on October 31, 2006 after a career of over 22 years with the United States Border Patrol. I spent my entire career in San Diego Sector, but as you probably once felt we were all one and one for all and our blood ran green. After what happened to the both of you I lost faith in who stood behind us and realized how difficult it was going to be to continue to protect our borders from the criminals that we all confronted on a daily basis. I just heard what President Bush has done for you and it certainly is not enough. I do rally to the fact that you will be released and united with your families. I wish you both the very best in the future and remember the good things about the USBP. Always brothers in green.

While I was disappointed that President Bush did not grant Ramos & Compean a full pardon, I was so glad to hear he at least commuted their sentences. God bless both the Ramos & Compean families!
